My original NES won't work
first i was playing RoboCop, it worked fine,
I move on to play Ghostbusters, after cleaning it with Q-Tips and alcohol it still didnt work
well then i tried Robocop again and several other games that have always worked but nothing, does anyone know what i can do next? i had previously fixed the pins so that shouldnt be a problem

Hmm, a technical help question... too bad we don't have a section for that.
Need more info than 'it dun be broke'. What is it doing? Flashing? Colored steady screen? No power? Humping your dog?

Well it seems like the games are may be working, since the red light turns on just fine, but the tv screen flashes for a second then it just blurrs the screen

Did you check all wires and connections between the NES and the TV? Did you trying using the other connection, IE switch from AV to RF? Maybe try the other RF channel?

Just because you "fixed" the pins doesn't mean they aren't dirty again. Try cleaning pins again, and all the carts again. Do you have a good method in which to clean the pins?

I found your problem. I think we can rule this one a suicide.
But really, more detail would be helpful. You say that the red light comes on. Does it stay on, or does it blink? Have you disabled the lockout chip on your NES? What do you mean it "Blurs the screen?" Does it show a blurry version of the title/load screens, or does it just show a blurry version of whatever would be on channel 3 or 4 (if you're using the RF connector)? What exactly on the screen is getting blurred?

Have you tried blowing on the cartridge opening yet? Did you jiggle the cartridge in the NES? Sometimes you need to jiggle it.

Never blow on the cart, that's why its messed up in the first place! Clean canned air yes, humid corrosion causing breath no!
