Outtrigger appreciation thread
I've been playing this game a lot lately. It's always been one of my favorite FPSs on the DC but I've just been in the mood to play... lots.
Does anyone happen to have detailed pictures of the Naomi arcade setup that was used? I can't seem to find any information on it. I remember reading somewhere that it used a button/trackball combo.
Also, does the US version of the Dreamcast game support the link cable?
edit: I changed the title - we'll just make this an everything Outtrigger thread

Re: Outtrigger arcade cabinet pics and information?
Found this in relation to the VS link cable: http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com/php ... php?t=7949
Looks like there was never an option but pieces of VS link code are left on the disc. Doesn't look like anyone has found a way to open up the option, however.

Re: Outtrigger arcade cabinet pics and information?
It was a standard candy cab but the cp had a mouse and joystick: aka the standard arcade FPS controls as seen in the Grid.
Dreamcast IGN has a distance shot of four cabs in action:

If they could ever get this running four player: via modem, vs link, or even emulation, I would love it. I use to play Outtrigger with my friends a decent amount, but we never really gave it the what for. And going back I have to play with mouse and keyboard. Though if emulation could happen...
And I so blame you for my unquenchable thirst of Outtrigger right now.

Sorry man... it's like sugar coated FPS candy.
LOL @ pic. Looks like they have a track ball to the right and one of the Virtual On sticks on the left. Brilliant design! Odd that they are standing cabs.

That's the average Naomi Upright universal design in Japan I believe.wip3outguy7 wrote:Sorry man... it's like sugar coated FPS candy.

Re: Outtrigger appreciation thread
I was messing around with an adapter tonight to see if it would accept PS/2 mouse input (it doesn't) and noticed a ledge in the castle area with power ups... I cannot figure out how to get to it. I tried rocket jumping with multiple characters. I even tried rocket jumping when powered up with the quad damage-ish item. Nothing, can't get there. Any insight? The area is not hard to find. The arena is roughly shaped like an L. The ledge is the highest point of the map and at the outer "elbow" of the L.

I would check but I am trying to fix my capture card for work on the site in the future. So I am all out of space on my desk.

I found a method to get there. You have to sticky bomb jump to the ledge. Not sure if that's the actual term or how many Outtrigger veterans already know about this but I feel special for figuring it out today.

Ohhh, I understand now. Thats really cool.
How do you like the Mouse/keyboard setup? Makes the game take on a whole new level right?
