Radiant Silvergun SAVE GAME issues

Hi, I have a modded sega saturn model 2. I also have a burned copy of radiant Silvergun, pre-region PATCHED. I also have a 4 in 1 action replay cart. The game plays fine, HOWEVER.. When i die at like the 3rd or 4th level, it asks me if i want to save to "SAVE 1", "SAVE 2", or "SAVE 3". So when i go to load the game from where i last died, IT LOADS THE GAME FROM THE FIRST LEVEL!! WHY? This is frustrating, because i don't want to keep having to reoply level 1 over and over and over again.. any suggestions? and my 4 in 1 action replay cart saves other games perfectly without a problem..

My guess is that you need to change the battery in your Saturn.

I don't thuink that's the problem, it saves into my 4 in 1 action replay cart. and there's nothing wrong with my 4 in 1, because I have already mentiopned that i can save other games with it without a problem and I have more than enough save slots, too.. So I'm thinking it's maybe because it's an import game.. I don't know.. I'm pissed off, heh.

Someone please?! Do you have the right answer? I really love this game and would like to have it save properly!

MOD EDIT: Please don't double post. You don't need to bump a topic 1 hour after the last post. The only time a bump is acceptable is when new information regarding the topic is available or if your topic drops off the front page. Thank you. Niode.

I haven't played my Saturn in a while, but don't you need to load the saves off of the 4-in-1 to the onboard memory on the Saturn...in that case then the battery would be a problem...

Again, I haven't played with my Saturn in a couple months, maybe I'm forgetting something...

I have this same problem, but I KNOW my Saturn's battery works. Maybe the save file is just for saving your score.

Wow, I never considered saving Radiant Silvergun. I just play until game over.

I'm not that good yet, to even make it past the 4th level, it's an amazing game, and i figure the more I play it, the easier it'll become and the more brilliant looking levels I am yet to see, haha.

Nah, it's not the damn cartridge or the battery. This game is an arcade shooter, meant to be played from beginning to end in one go. Your weapons level up the more you use them, and the Saturn version lets you save your weapon levels, so that each subsequent time you start the game over, your weapons get stronger and stronger. I think your number of lives also increases. Eventually your weapons will be badass and it becomes almost like cheating, but frankly this is one game where that's probably okay.

QFT. You're going to have to suck it up and play it all the way through like a real man. These games were meant to be played from start to finish. (Actually, they were meant to be beaten in 1 credit :) But that's a different topic)
