Metal Gear collectable???

Post by xxstatic »

Anyone else get the swag they were giving out when you pre-ordered Metal Gear Solid for the PS1?

Found this in one of the boxes of stuff I had and if I remember correctly I had 2 and the dog tag chain came with it along with a marine hat with the Foxhound logo on the front, looks like I do not have the other tag and chain or the hat. :(

The quarter is for size reference...

That looks and sounds like one sexy pre-order bonus.

I wish I could have been old enough to experience that era of stuff, now we're lucky if we even get get free DLC for pre-ordering.

Ooops....Looks like I gave away my age.....

I can tell you that we didn't have to wait in line or camp out on "launch Day" for Pong...

I wish I had kept all the goodies they used to shovel at us for pre-orders... :(

I'm 17 so I'm not too young, but my mom tried to keep me away from those 'killer japanese videogames' as she so ignorantly put it for as long as she could by stranding me with an NES until 00-01 when she gave up and got me an N64.

Now after actually seeing what games look and play like she's come around for the most part.

I remember MGS1 as the defining experience for me when it came to the PS1, I however, do not remember when I started to pre-order things, it's a shame that they don't usually stick to giving out cool shit anymore, especially with the piece of shit gamestop not to far from here that promises things for their precious pre-orders so they can stay open, but they almost NEVER deliver.

I'm 43 and I still find joy "discovering" new consoles and genre's, I am kind of doing that by trying to pick up consoles that I didn't buy in the past for whatever reason I had at the time, there are some real hidden gem's out there

I take it you found the chain with the other tag? Awesome collectibles you have there!
