Instead of these random 80's game systems most of us have not heard of on the latest forum posts?

The 70's and 80's systems ARE the original retro systems. If you don't know the joys of Breakout on the 2600, or Biplanes on the Intellevision, M.U.L.E. on the C64 or Ultima on the Apple II, that's just your loss.

The NES came out in the mid 80s, do you want us to stop talking about that too?

The late 70's and early 80's were hands down the red headed step child of gaming.

More like the senile great grandfather who has no idea what the young people are about today, screaming at the top of his lungs "YOU YOUNGSTERS GET OFF MY LAWN DAMMIT!". I don't even know why I'm commenting. I don't really care what gets posted on the main page. I guess I just think that insulting analogies should be a little more accurate.

Yes, why would anyone on a retro video game site be interested in video game consoles with bad graphics, outdated games, and limited sound capabilities? Everyone knows that video games achieved perfection in 1994. It's a scientific fact. We retro game enthusiasts are far too enlightened to be interested in games from before we were born. Why would we want to play Oregon Trail anyway? I'm never going to Oregon! I demand that anyone with a Vectrex be tarred, feathered, and ran out of town on a vector-based rail.

Just because you don't care about a certain system or era gaming does not mean that no one else should be able to read about. It's not about the graphics or the sound abilities for me it's about great game play. Is Super Mario World no longer a good game because it's graphics and sound are out dated, no it's game play makes it one of the best games ever to be made
