What kind of AC Adaptor does the Master System use?

So a friend offered to sell me his Master System and a few games for $60, what a steal! Problem is, it doesn't have an AC Adaptor. We aren't even sure if the thing works since we can't really turn it on without power now can we?
I have a box full of power cords and stuff and I just wanted to know what kind it used. I have a Model 2 Genesis, would its adaptor work? Anyway, I just want to know what it uses and if I can use something I already have or just go down to the Radioshack and buy the proper one. Thanks. ;D

you can use a sega cd 1 or 2 same,or model 1 genesis ac adapter it's the same adapter for the 3. model number 1602 here are the specs: (120V to 9V, AC to DC, 1.2AMP)
but don't use a genesis 2 adapter it's different.

SMS = 9V 1A
GEN2= 10V .85A
Wouldn't cross the wires if I were you...

well that's the genesis 2 it uses ac adapter 2103 and yes it's different.
or look for Model 3025-1 AC Adapter.

look for the white box adapter that says 9volts dc*1200ma.
i think this is the adapter part number: radio shack 273-1612

In addition, you can also use a NES adapter.

Are you sure the NES adaptor works? I was reading a forum post and it said it would fry it. D:

NES and Genesis 1 systems have the same AC output. I was going to get a new SMS one myself but ended up never using my SMS, so I just tested it all with my Genesis AC & stuck the SMS up for trade.
