I'd like to see this list continuing:
I'm going to be developing a list of essential imports for every system, much like I did for the Dreamcast here:
http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2006/01/ ... mport.html

Please list your favorite NES games that were not released in the US. And, if you don't mind, include a sentence or two about why they are special.

i have a japanese book of the "best" games, as well as well with a (near?) complete list of official famicom games... when i have some more free time i'll have to take a better look into that

Ok. I went digging around the Net and such (mostly wikipedia) and compiled this quick list -- lemme know if you can shed some light on some of them -- many of which I didn't know that there was not a US release:

Doki Doki Panic
special edition of Metroid
Crazy Climber ?
Dig Dug ?
Final Fantasy 3
Mother
Fire Emblem

The REAL Super Mario Bros 2.

Any of these any good?
