Burning Sega Saturn ISO's Questions

Post by env963 »

I have several Sega Saturn iso's that I would like to burn, however I have a few questions, I am hoping someone can help me with. First of all, I know how to burn a bin/cue file. No problem... Although I have a few files that are ISO/MP3, and ISO/OGG, etc etc. What exactly am I supposed to do with the audio files? (mp3's and ogg's) I tried 2 different things. I first created a folder and put ALL the files in there and burned it. And it seemed to work. I then tried deleting the mp3's and I burned it again. Weird, it didn't seem to change anything. Both disc's have the same file size after burning. So that confuses me.. what am I supposed to be doing with the mp3's in that folder? Do I need to leave them in there for burning? I am using a emulator to test my cd's after burning.

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks!

You need a CUE file.
If you don't have one, check this out:

Then this:

Well, what about the MP3's that are in the folder? What are you supposed to do with them? Nothing? Cause I like I said before, I burned one WITH and one WITHOUT, and they seemed to come out the same.

Decompress to wav, within the same folder. Make sure the waves follow the filename standard that the iso file has. If the iso file is Track 01.iso, then the waves should begin with Track 0x.wav, replacing x with the track number. Many apps decompress wavs. Even Winamp. Find the one that you like. And make sure the cue file mentions all your wav files with exact filenames. You can vie and edit cue files with Notepad or Wordpad.

I am using Nero 7, and I am checking one of the disc's I had burned. The Cue mentions's Wav's for all the mp3's.. which is good. But like I said before. I took OUT the MP3's and it still worked. Anyone know why?

you can change all the WAV to MP3 in the CUE sheet and Nero will do the conversion for you.
The game might work without the MP3s, but you just won't have the music.

So let me get this straight. The cue sheet, should MATCH, the type of file I have with the game? So If I have MP3's, the cue sheet should mention MP3's? Correct? If I have WAV's, the cue sheet should mention wav's am I correct on that?

If so, then that would explain why it works for me both ways, cause I am burning Radiant silvergun, and the cue sheet says WAV's but the files are MP3's. So no matter if I took the mp3's out, I would have gotten the same result.

Do I have the first 2 statements correct?

I wonder If Nero 7 is changing my radiant silvergun mp3's to Wav's on the fly. Because the cue sheet doesn't match the format. (Cue sheet says's wav's the file has MP3's)

You are correct in your first two statements.
But Nero won't convert MP3s to WAVs if the CUE sheet doesn't tell it that you have MP3s.
