While not really copyright infringement, I can't help but wonder if it was actually derived from it.

while not impossible, i'd say no way. aside from the band being (seemingly, from the article) very obscure, the common part is just 3 notes (plus their octaves). it's not like we're talking "ice ice baby" here :lol:

I'm pretty sure the notes and the lyrics to the "Super Mario Bros. Super Show" theme are a direct rip on an old Run DMC song about an italian plumber...
