Which way to go?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Which way to go?

Post by UBERTRON777 »

So I'm going to go with a gaming theme from my marathon ideas. I was going to do Treasure but I do not own a Saturn and I heard that emulating for it was difficult. Ultimately I plan on doing all of Capcom's games but I'm not ready for that now. I pretty much brought it down to three simple things: 2D Sonic games, Nintendo EAD, or Nintendo R&D1(excluding the Game & Watch systems). I plan to do reviews for each game that I play. So which one should I do?

Well, to be honest, this forum is a bit Sega heavy at times. And Sonic's been discussed a lot. So why not go with one of the Nintendo options you listed?

Yeah, I think I'll go with EAD. Most of the games are well known and I shouldn't have too much trouble getting them (except for the N64DD ones). I'll probably keep it retro and not head too far into it.

I'd go with R&D1 if you are going to do Nintendo

I never was a big Nintendo kinda guy... but the games I did like (outside of Zelda) were by R&D1... Mario Land series (and the subsequent Wario games), Metroid, Kid Icarus

or to be a huge sega nerd, like all ready pointed out about this forum... play all the Sega games not released on Sega systems (of course PRE Sega hardware death). The list is kind of short and are Sega games mostly ported by other companies (like Tengen who did most of the Sega games on the NES... yes Sega games on the NES).

...

didn't you already have this thread before? I remember a similar thread, and I suggested Treasure in it.

He was looking for ideas at the time, and I guess this was what he decided on. Now he's just trying to wrap the selection up and get started.

You know, you might also try every Mario game, from Super Mario Bros. to Mario Sunshine to Mario's Time Machine. Just a thought.

I think I'll actually do those Tengen games first. There is not many of them and it would be a good primer to what I'm going to try.

Mario is Missing and Mario's Time Machine were both awesome back in the day. It's surprising how easy it is to get people to do learning activities if you make it seem like a game.
