Us baka gaijins are forever doomed to drool over the treasure trove that is Hard-Offs and recycle shops in Japan... I swear I'll visit someday though, and I'll be lucky if my bank account isn't drained by the time it's over.

made me lulz.

Yeah so me and my wife bought a house a couple weeks ago. So we've been super busy, and until and hour ago we were without internet as well. Trying to post from phone sucks so I was just logging in to check PM's once in a while really. Missed y'alls, but now I have my own game room. Super cool.

Also, Dave texted me from a Kendrick Lamar show to make me jealous, so I know for a fact he's alive and well.

SMILE: Metal Gear Rising! ITS FUCKING AWESOME. I'm on the 7th chapter right now. SO MUCH AWESOMENESS IN THE GAME. No complaints so far other than this;
Samuel's fight was very anticlimatic.

On the house front, my wife and I bought one in January and everything was fine. Until yesterday we got a letter stating that we were being fined for not showing up to the annual HOA meeting and that they want to raise dues $30 a month because they collected dues in February and are in the red already. In the letter it states that they collected 70k and have already spent it. How they did that with no common area, pool, or anything, screams scam to me. So I contacted them on the email address they gave me stating that I was informed by the selling agent that their group had been dissolved which is why we bought the house, they responded with a "tough, you owe us money" email. To which I responded how was I supposed to know that there was a meeting when I was told the company didnt exist? and they responded that I was mailed a letter the day before. So my realestate company might be suing them since they have now sold three houses in the area this year all because we were told there is no HOA. We cant even put the house up for sale until next year because of our loan.

Needless to say, I am fucking pissed.

I have nothing against HOAs if there is a reason to them, or if you are in a condo/townhome. But I live on alittle over an acre and the guy around the corner from me who lives on two acres has chickens. And in talking to my neighbor who has lived here for 20 years he said the HOA repairs the roads... So I have them dropping off a copy of the bylaws today. After reading my neighbors they claim that I cannot park on the street and that they can decide what color flowers I can grow, now his are outdated so we are waiting for the new ones - he too was told it was dissolved.

The guy who runs our HOA rules with an iron fist. He's been even more vocal since a new development has started construction near our neighborhood.

HOA's are dumb, but helpful sometimes. My house is in Old (maybe Olde, not sure) Westhaven. The streets are broad, the houses gorgeous, and the neighbors are kind (I even take in my neighbor's trash bins back to their garage after pick-up). It's like a neighborhood from ET or Home Alone. But now a construction company is opening up "Westhaven South", which is still a nice area, but the houses are built in which seems like less than a month, and to be honest, they look like cheap houses. The HOA made sure that zoning laws were in place, and that Old Westhaven has NO relation to Westhaven South, although they still have the word "Westhaven" in them. People in Westhaven South can't be in our HOA, which I'm not sure is a good or bad thing, as I really don't care.

But anyways, the HOA can help settle little beefs. About four houses down from mine, some trust fund college kid inherited his Grandparent's lovely home, which they've trashed. The guy used to leave his trash bin out all week and never cut his lawn...tacky. My wife called the HOA, and *boom* kid started to clean up big time.
