Those appraisals are worthless. Do you really think you will sell it for the appraised value? You'll be lucky to get 50% of it.Luke wrote:I had the ring and diamond appraised, and it's already gained $3k in value,

When the store offers to purchase it back from you at the appraised price, why yes. Yes I know it would sell at the appraised value.gtmtnbiker wrote: Those appraisals are worthless. Do you really think you will sell it for the appraised value?

How much do working Pioneer brand Laserdisc players go for these days? I know we have a few LD enthusiasts here.

Depends entirely on the model.BoringSupreez wrote:How much do working Pioneer brand Laserdisc players go for these days? I know we have a few LD enthusiasts here.
Cheaper ones go for 75-200 dollars, while some higher end models approach a thousand.

If you've ever seen the stereotypical "bumbling professor", do note that sometimes it's just the pressure of starting class on time and being unfamiliar with the layout. If they can't figure out how to turn on a projector, it's likely because some bastard decided to turn off the computer, which took them entirely by surprise. And no, although the "no input" should have been a giveaway, the scrambling around to start class and get through all the material meant that they just didn't connect the dots, although in hindsight, it was all too obvious how idiotic they were being. Sigh.
