I was gonna make some snarky post that's like "NO HOTLINKING HERE PLEASE? Never seen that one, looks weird."

DJANGO UNCHAINED
This is the only QT movie I can think of where the shock value seems forced. The man has some serious cahones to include some of the scenes he did. Of course Waltz and DiCaprio are brilliant, but a lot of the movie overstays its welcome. Like Inglourious Basterds, a lot more fell flat than I thought it would. It was good, but isn't a love letter to a movie genre like Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill were.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 (the actual NOES2)
So we watched Elm Street 3 last night and I will say I rather enjoyed it. It was infinitely better than the hokey NOES2, and it was better than the first one. It wasn't scary, but I think some of the imagery from 3 might have done a good job at scaring me a few times. For example the huge 'snake' thing that tries to eat the girl from Medium. That was pretty damn creepy, even at age 35, lol. It was a much better plot than the 2nd movie by far.
Freddy still doesn't strike me as scary though, and I'm confused as to why they only feature him for only a few scenes in these movies. Were they trying to go for the JAWS effect? Not showing the 'monster' but a few sparing times? I dunno. It didn't bother me too much but there were 3 high points for me:
1. The scene with the first kid who is treated like a marionette. I remember a kid in school talking about that scene and how gruesome it was. It wasn't, but I remembered it and when I saw the scene, I smiled. Maybe from a hint of nostalgia, even though I hadn't seen the film before?
2. Another scene told to me by some kids: the scene with the silent kid and the nurse, where their tongues get stuck together. Same idea s the first one, maybe a bit of nostalgia?
3. Same scene with the nurse - FINALLY, a pair of titties in s slasher film. It only took 3 movies to see some 80s tits.
All in all my 'favorite' so far. It actually was a little enjoyable, and I like how they pretty much completely ignore NOES2's story, lol.

Tell me about it, it was a cautionary tale about the longsuffering soul who did not realize that moviepostersdb.com does not let you right click any of their images. A powerful, moving epic.noiseredux wrote:

Best line? "You had good intentions..."
2 stars for effort

I just saw Rare Exports, a really great Christmas horror movie. I love the mythological evil Santa - it's way more interesting than the boring old "serial killer who dresses like Santa" that most Christmas horror movies use.
