Around here i could still get good deals on retro games, shame i didn't have any money back then. I regret not buying a lot with about 10 N64 games, the console, expansion pack, controllers, etc (games had majoras, DK 64, Mario) for 100$. Now no one sells anything like that in lot they sell it individually and sometimes the price is fair other times overpriced to the roof (RE4 gamecube for 40$).

But yeah, now im waiting to that bunch of people that got into it quit and re-sell the games... though about half of them think they can "retire" from those sales.

I think that ranking is based on post count, not join date.

I'm #8. Not sure if I should be proud.

I don't think I ever didn't play retro games - they were just called old games back then.

I joined in 2008, if that makes me part of the cool kids club. As soon as I was old enough to go to pawn shops and flea markets, I was buying old games of my own volition because you can always buy a lot more old games that you know are good for the same money you can buy one brand new game that may or may not have had its early reviews handled with kid gloves.

Just to throw it out there guys, this is a thing now:

http://steamed.kotaku.com/modders-can-now-make-money-on-steam-1699760897/+nathangrayson

Mods can be put up on steam to be bought now. I don't even game much on PC and I feel very conflicted about this whole deal.

Sounds fine to me. Content creators get paid for their work and the 24 hour refund window prevents buyer's remorse.

It was pretty hard for modders to legally monetize their efforts. This way the developers and Valve get a small cut and everyone is happy.

I like the idea behind but when you know steam take's 75% of the profit then my maybe goes to NOPE.

Actually from what I read each profit split is unique between steam, modder and publisher.

25% of something is more than 100% of nothing.

Between willingly giving free stuff to the internet and someone earning more money than me for my job... i prefer the first.
