Themed movie parties are always a great time.
Dozing off in a theater is something I've done maybe three times, but I was tuckered out after having a few friends over for MNF. Eh, got to see the Star Trek trailer so it was worth it.
I figured this Trilogy would be a lot of filler, as Google tells me that Jackson & Co. do not own the rights to The Silmarillion . Guessing what we'll get is when the book says "and Gandalf returns from blahblahblah" we'll see what he was up to in blahblahblah. I still look forward to seeing the new installments.
everytime i try to watch lotr ,and any of the harry potter movies, i fall asleep. funny i always liked rpg's but get disinterested with those films. i remember watching the hobbit cartoon in english class in middle school and it was great. we moved along the the lotr cartoon and i was like "hurry up football practice". part of the reason i can't get into the potter movies i guess are the fuckers talk to dam fast.

He does not have the Silmarillion, but he does have all the short stories sets that actually will help pad. Silmarillion is more about what happened in the first and second ages of Middle Earth, the Third Age is when all the stories we know happen. (atleast that was my understanding, its been years since Ive tried to read it)

Yeah, but I like Silmarillion.
I do too, but I am holding out for something like a Terrence Malick version of the stuff in that book since a fair portion of it doesn't lend itself very well to traditional narrative structure. I don't think Jackson is the right person to direct a film based on The Silmarillion.
