So you got a set of N64 carts, sold them, then a set of CIB N64, sold them, and are now getting a set of N64 carts again?

Yeah. First time was nostalgia for me. Reliving my high school gaming days.
Second time w/CIB was my 2-3 year shelf-queen episode.
Then I hit the "I just want to play N64 if the itch strikes, which is rare" so I picked up an Everdrive 64.
Then I remembered I don't know how to install roms and I hate roms and multi-carts - so I sold that.
Then my kids wanted to play the first Tony Hawk after playing Tony Hawk 4. Then I remember how much I love N64, I decided to get all the carts again.

Sounds like a waste of time and money I would've just kept them in the first place

Today it seems you are the "cool" guy if you play the older games. Its very easy to find Twitch streams with older games now, this used to be a niche hobby IIRC.

2007 - I owned just a NES, Game Boy, SNES, maybe 15-20 games total, and they were all stashed in a closet in my parents' house.

Same, just a bunch of it being games from when I was little if I did do any retro gaming(which meant lugging out my dad's NES the last time I used it before it was put in his garage XD ). It's kinda strange to see how I've taken a good bit of that but added some to it(got some on the way), and gone way beyond...hopefully I'll stick to what systems I already have until I finally am able to move out of my mom's house(though it's already getting way too dang small for what games I already have o_O need to get rid of the vhs's and books to digital so I can make room for stuff )
