A decade for me and my wife. The "time" was never right.
We "lived together/in sin" for seven years.
BTW, I asked my Mom about the baby cap and she's already working on it. More than likely I'll just ask her to ship it directly to you.
All I ask is that in return is a thank you to my Mom, and maybe a pic of Baby Bone in the cap.
That's fine! Thanks!
And yeah... My wife and I almost made it to a decade... We met as teenagers in college, so obviously we weren't getting married then. Then she went to med school for 4 years out-of-state, so we couldn't get married then. After that it took about another 1.5-2 years to get financially stable enough to even plan a wedding. We only lived "in sin" for about 4 months before we got engaged though.
Ticked - So my wife dropped our taxes off at the CPA last night (her W2 was the delay). They called her this morning saying she owed $700 and I owe $500. Last year she got back $300ish and I got back $600ish and nothing has changed except we got married (I did not officially move states until this year due to work). So then they tell us that the CPA is on vacation until next Tuesday. When we asked how they could file two different states taxes is only a few minutes (she dropped them off as they were closing last night and got a call when they opened), they did not give an answer. So we have a meeting with the CPA at 0700 on Tuesday.

I hate taxes...
Make sure your company takes out more from your check. There is a little worksheet usually provided for 2 income couples. The problem may be that your combined income pushed you into the next tax bracket and your company was only taking out taxes as if each of you was a lone earner in a married bracket.
I just got all my tax documents this weekend, so it's time I file mine. I give up about 25-33% of each paycheck and have been paying off student loans, but I've never been paid this well before, so I admit that I'm a bit worried.

Good thought. Looking at the tax brackets, we should be in the same one joint or separate - 25%. Together we still make sub 140k. I am just curious on how with nothing other than marriage, my take changed by over a grand.

Take out you or your wifes income. Then what bracket would you be with just your income?
Your company doesn't know how much your wife makes. But now that you list married, they take out as if you were the sole earner filing married. So they take less from your check than before. Unless you tell them to take additional amount. I have to take an additional amount out of my check to cover my wifes income as her company takes a smaller percentage from her checks than it would if our income was combined.

Id still be in 25%, we both make right in the middle. I did not tell my company to take out more than before, but am putting in that form right now. We were only married for two months out of last year, but I have a feeling that it is retroactive for the whole year isnt it?

Thanks for helping me understand this Jmustang.
That seems impossible. Right now married filing jointly is 15% between 17850 and 72500. It is 25% between 72500 and 146400.
So say you make 60k each and you both put down married on your W4. Your company would then be taking 15% out instead of 25% because they will assume your family income is 60k and not 120k.
So one income will be taxed properly and the other will exceed the 15% bracket.
