50 bucks is the average price for MML2.

just got my first arcade cab for free on craigslist. vertical 25" monitor set up. it's empty right now but i'm going to investigate whether or not i should restore it and make a dedicated cab or gut it for a MAME shooter setup.

it was a Raiden DX cab. it's been gutted (which is why it was free). the monitor apparently works but hasn't been tested in a while. i am thinking that a MAME setup is probably the way to go for ease of use/mobility, and to get the most bang for the buck. it does have a working jamma harness, however.

NICE!Why can't I ever get this lucky?! The Tate cab is narrow enough for a small room, great find! Agree the Mame route will give you more versatility. You have two player sticks and can also be setup for Twinstick games without having to deal with toggle switches. Individual twinstick games such as Robotron and Black Widow are easily software configured thru the Mame menu.
I stretch DVD widescreen movies to full screen on my 4:3 HD CRT, all the actors have lost weight. I imagine a game like Streetfighter will make for some very tall skinny fighter characters!

The cab looks like there is room for a regular monitor, just cut out the side bevels.

i will probably just leave the TATE setup and make this a dedicated SHMUP cab. debating on exactly what i wanna do with it at this point.

Damn i'm jealous.
Just got back from Goodwill 50% off Saturday, day after Black Friday, place was packed. Disappointed that a 35'' Trinitron with component hookups I spied earlier in the week was gone, but I held off until 50% off day and went late, caveat emptor.
I did score a Sega Genesis Game Genie, a codebook for it, and a CIB Sonic 2, all for $1.20!
They were in a junky box containing a model 2 Genesis, a tangle of wires and controllers, some generic CD-ROM games, and several common games that I have already. I would have got everything, being 50% off and all, but the lot was priced at $100!!!!! Even $50 was way too much. The store was crazy busy, so I picked out what I wanted and hoped no one would call me out on breaking the lot up. Not sure how the cashier rang up $1.20, think she assumed they were all one game, but I'll take it!
