aaron wrote:it was a Raiden DX cab. it's been gutted (which is why it was free). the monitor apparently works but hasn't been tested in a while. i am thinking that a MAME setup is probably the way to go for ease of use/mobility, and to get the most bang for the buck. it does have a working jamma harness, however.

Why can't I ever get this lucky?! The Tate cab is narrow enough for a small room, great find! Agree the Mame route will give you more versatility. You have two player sticks and can also setup Twinstick games without having to deal with toggle switches. Individual twinstick games such as Robotron and Black Widow are easily software configured thru the Mame menu.![]()
I stretch DVD widescreen movies to full screen on my 4:3 HD CRT, all the actors have lost weight. I imagine a game like Streetfighter will make for some very tall skinny fighter characters!
The cab looks like there is room for a regular monitor, just cut out the side bevels.
