yeah - I'd just recommend the Alienware (et al) for those folks who aren't so hot on building stuff themselves. For those looking for a console-like experience, it's a neat setup as it's actually Win8, but hides behind a custom 10-foot UI that's completely operable via gamepad. Def a good console->PC gateway rig.
Obviously building something similar w/ SteamOS is a cheaper option, though you might argue that the (hidden) functionality of Win8 is a plus on the Alienware.

I don't know how many of you heard of gamepressure.com but they got some really nice walkthroughs, not just text but full HTML with pictures and detailed descriptions.

yeah I like them. You can also buy a nice eBook version of their guides. I haven't, but the option seems pretty good to have.
Yeah I bet those ebooks are really handy since you can get them on a tablet, it would beat switching from game to guide.
I was looking for some help on the first Chronicles of Riddick because somehow I walked right into that spot about halfway in where you take a heavy mech and just start shooting up everything and I was totally lost, then I found this site. It helped very much.

Decent site, but it seems to be mostly current/last gen focused.
I mostly stick with StrategyWiki, RPG Classics, GameFAQs, and good old-fashioned print guides.
