Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Contacts are great. I've been wearing them for about 30 years. I always take them out every night to give my eyes a break even though I could wear them in my sleep. I love being able to wear sunglasses and not have to worry about rain/snow getting glasses wet or fogging up. I still wear glasses at night (after taking the contacts out) and sometimes on weekends when I do projects around the house.Xeogred wrote: It's weird though, so do contacts cover your entire view? That just makes it seem like they're technically better then hands down, minus the pain of putting them in and stuff from what I hear. I guess I'll see how these goes and others react, but yeah guess if this is how it is from here on I'll probably look into contacts eventually. Aren't there special types for dry eyes too or something? That was another thing my eye doctor pointed out, next to the light sensitivity, I need to make sure I use eye drops on my eyes about once a day at least to keep them clean and moist. I wouldn't be surprised if that's an issue with both me and KS over the years, it's so freaking muggy and dry out here.

Seriously considering selling all my PAL games and replacing them with their NTSC counterparts. Rebuying the NTSC versions will almost always be cheaper, so I should end up with better versions of my games, and some extra money. Looks like a win/win situation to me...

It would probably be easier to mod the consoles to display in 60hz though.elmagicochrisg wrote:Seriously considering selling all my PAL games and replacing them with their NTSC counterparts. Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Chris, is that why you added so many DC games to your sale list? I was wondering what was going on. Though maybe you were getting out of DC collecting.

Works in some cases but not always.alienjesus wrote:It would probably be easier to mod the consoles to display in 60hz though.
For instance, original Playstations can't be modded because it's the games / discs that decide whether the game displays in 50Hz or 60Hz...
Nope, those are just doubles and triples. I'm not likely to sell my full PAL DC collection any time soon. Besides, Dreamcast was the first console to fully embrace PAL 60, meaning all PAL DC games run at 60 Hz natively... ^^noiseredux wrote:Chris, is that why you added so many DC games to your sale list? With the contact acting as a moisture barrier, how do the eyes get a fresh clean from the tear duct thru out the day?Xeogred wrote:It's weird though, so do contacts cover your entire view? I wonder if Contacts might also be an issue when looking at something up close like reading a computer screen for hours. For example, I force myself to only wear glasses when driving. This is not due to vanity, but to prevent my eyes from getting more out of focus as I get older. The eyes do not have to refocus thru a "distance correction" of a glass lens or contacts when reading a book or computer screen up close.

You can convert the PS1 PAL games to 60Hz if you want. There are PAL games such as Little Big Adventure that never were released to the US on a console.elmagicochrisg wrote:Works in some cases but not always.alienjesus wrote:It would probably be easier to mod the consoles to display in 60hz though.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Screw that. I don't have original discs just to put converted backups in my consoles, or use swap discs or whatever. Also don't feel like losing part of the top and bottom of the screen, or working around that...CRTGAMER wrote:You can convert the PS1 PAL games to 60Hz if you want. It is a nice guide for PAL games that never had an NTSC release. But that's about the only thing I would use this guide for. If I was in NTSC territory that is. Pretty sure PAL only games are PAL optimized... lol
Thanks for the link though...
EDIT If you ever feel up to it, a list of all PAL optimized games spanning all consoles would be nice...
