TOTAL: 75

2011 Games Beaten
2010 Games Beaten

As far as intensity goes, these two games are on pretty opposite sides of the spectrum, but both are extremely compelling and fascinating in their own right.

Hotline Miami is an addictive as hell violent romp that ranks high on the list of the best PC-exclusive indie titles I've played in recent memory. A great soundtrack and a trippy if incoherent story make this one worth checking out, but the challenging and inspired gameplay makes it worth sticking through to the end (it took me 8.5 hours, because it was hard  )

NightSky was like Limbo meets Marble Madness meets (at times) a pinball machine. I think a lot of folks on here would really dig it, and it is another solid PC exclusive (and indie title) that I think makes it worth ditching the console for 4 hours or so and playing with your keyboard :)

hit 75! Still curious if I can get to 80 before the year is out.

NightSky is actually downloadable for the 3DS now, but yeah, it's definitely a cool little game; great atmosphere.

You're on a mother crunkin' role with your game defeating, guy.

Nice. Does it have 3D features?

Thanks! I do feel like I am on a role this week, as I have the luxury of time off designated to "doing almost nothing" prior to January 1 so I wanted to try and bring my list for the year closer to the totals from 2010 and 2011.

I have no idea. Don't actually own a 3DS, I just saw it in a newsletter the other day.

That helps.
Good luck with that 80 game goal. Only a few days left.

Damn Dsh! You're knockin' em out!

I think I'll finish Spec Ops: The Line tomorrow and have 1/3 of the games defeated that you did this year, which I feel pretty satisfied with.

Did Hotline Miami randomly crash for you? It's happened to me a few times, and I've stopped playing it as a result. Otherwise, I'd have beaten by now because it's a fun game. Also, are you playing the Steam version? Mine is from GOG and I have Windows 8, and I'm wondering if either of those has to do with the random crashes

I heard there was a recent patch to the Steam version, but it doesn't seem available on GOG yet. Maybe that'll fix the problem. I'm told Windows 8 is finicky with some games too

I really can't say I'm into modern military FPS's at all thesedays, but I've heard some pretty good things about Spec Ops... worth a shot maybe?

If it's anything like CoD, or heavily scripted and only a few hours long, then yeah that's a no go for me. lol

I bet you didn't see a Jaguar game coming! Super Burnout is super fun, and by far the best Hang-On style game I've probably ever played, including anything in the Hang-On series. It is a shame that this didn't get ported to other systems.

I don't like the Dead or Alive series much from what I've played, and my time with DOA3 today did not prove enough to change my opinion, even after playing through it a few times. A pretty but vapid series, in my opinion.
