They don't consume like we do, but hey its a thought that is all. If we don't buy what is made overseas things will start to change they would still want our business and our money. I don't people could do it though and not buy stuff.

Yeah, protectionism is a fraught with all sorts of difficulties. The world economy is too global, our population too numerous, to do such a thing to the degree you suggest.

I think it is a better solution than absolute free market, though, since that is susceptible to deceptive practices by other countries. Just look at the current Chinese fiasco, but in general there is a long history.

No matter how many times I get them adjusted, my glasses are always crooked. It's annoying. I think my ears are uneven.

I have an idea, make all imports taxable 100% meaning the Wii U would cost $500 yes. foreign cars would cost double, TV's ect. Break it down into a 4 year stage, 25% the first year then up to 100% by year 4. If it would raise the cost enough maybe the factories would come back over here. We are the main buyers of a lot of this stuff. Imagine a Nintendo factory opening up in the states to keep cost low. There are some Mitsubishi and BMW plants over here that I know of, cause we buy 90% of them. I mean if it will not be profitable for them to make it overseas with the taxes,we will start to make stuff over here again. If Zenith had to pay a 100% tax maybe they would never have left, I know they are not around any more though. Hell even Sony would make stuff here.
Yeah, sorry, but Protectionism is a terrible idea. It never really works in today's world, even in countries that can be self-sustaining.

Especially using torrents for it. Can't say I've ever actually used a torrent for an album.
I rip CDs as soon as I get them too.

On a side-note, one thing that irks me is how every CD these days seems to come in a digipak or some other irregular packaging. If you tear or dent the front cover you can't replace it (without outright buying a new CD). In addition to the crappy digipaks, many CDs now come in slipcases that will scratch the discs after repeated use. The madness needs to stop - what happened to regular jewel cases?!

Digipaks are cool until they start getting some wear on them. Slipcases are eww though.

I got my glasses yesterday, this is going to be so weird being a completely new thing to me at 25. I noticed it really is like... going from SDTV to HDTV while on the road or something, could definitely read signs better and everything looked sharper. I probably won't wear them around the house much, but I'll use them for work and driving as recommended. Though my eyes are very sensitive to light too, so I may just have to get some prescribed sunglasses sometime this year when I can update my insurance with a vision plan.

All that said... about how long does it take to get used to glasses? The feel of them and literally just the look. Like I felt kind of dizzy and weird off and on yesterday when I wore them off and on for awhile, I'm sure the prescription is right though when everything 10 feet away and further looks a lot sharper though. I imagine there's some kind of "adjusting" time frame for some people, but I have no idea...?

Alright cool. So all the strangeness going on with it is pretty normal then? Mostly just concerned vision wise. Like one thing that stood out was when I was driving and looked in the rear view mirrors, that felt/looked really weird sometimes. I can't even really explain it.

But yeah people at my work told me "not to look down" while I walk and stuff, lol.

It's weird though, so do contacts cover your entire view? That just makes it seem like they're technically better then hands down, minus the pain of putting them in and stuff from what I hear. I guess I'll see how these goes and others react, but yeah guess if this is how it is from here on I'll probably look into contacts eventually. Aren't there special types for dry eyes too or something? That was another thing my eye doctor pointed out, next to the light sensitivity, I need to make sure I use eye drops on my eyes about once a day at least to keep them clean and moist. I wouldn't be surprised if that's an issue with both me and KS over the years, it's so freaking muggy and dry out here.

My eyes are just a tiny bit different, maybe 1/32 of an inch or so, leaving me with my glasses always bent so I can see well. Its something that I've just gotten used too.
