My review of it was rather short. It's one of those movies where you can say "well, it's a movie" and not much more.
It changed too much from the books, but it was a fun ride. Granted the book was slow so it would have been a slow movie so it needed some changes. It is definitely the best movie of the Princess of Mars yet - the 2009 movie Princess of Mars is not even laughably bad, its just bad - when a former porn star is Deja and cant even attempt to look sexy...

It was, as expected, absolute shit. It's not as shitty as the other movies, which isn't saying much. "It's the least shitty of the twilight movies." But it was definitely still really shitty. I laughed a good deal during the ending fight sequence. It was so over the top that it was obvious it wasn't real. Apparently it's altered from the book, sorta? But women/girls in there were sobbing and saying "oh no" when SparklyVamp #17 was killed or whatever, and I'm just laughing my ass off. Of course, when the dust settles, it's shown to have been a dream sequence. Utter garbage.
They had the first one on FX last night. I forced myself to watch most of it and........It was painful. The acting, the dialogue, the effects were just....no. Can't do it. I like to think I can handle a fair amount of cheesiness, but that was way too much. The only person I even remotely liked was the black vampire (watched it last night and still can't remember his name), and he was only on screen for a whopping 3 minutes.

The only way I'd even consider watching it again was if someone downloaded the Rifftrax for it.

The Rifftrax for it is actually quite hilarious. It's one of our go-to favorites.

I love this. Jay trying to mack on Ellie is a bit creepy but overall it's near perfect.

RED DAWN

Tiny spoilers:
I'm usually very diligent in my movie note taking, but some movies are so dumb and surprisingly dull I end up doodling on my note pad. But that doesn't mean I didn't take any notes. Read away:

How many movie fathers are either the chief of police or detective?

Hemsworth might make this watchable.

Stereotypical characters to a fault.

Prediction: Dad dies, Chris takes over, his brother at some point puts the team in jeopardy but ultimately saves the day with some act of heroism.

Not China? N.Korea?

Did they send ALL of N.Korea? What's going on back in their home country?

More money spent on pyrotechnics than editing.

Teenagers have gotten old.

Props props, lots a props.

I should clean my watch when I get home.

For a communist country, they sure do love jeeps.

Wouldn't risk my life for soda. Beer, maybe.

Just what this movie needed: Shaky cam.

It is nice to know that fighting sound effects from the eighties are still being used.

Who makes those gummi vitamins that has a cute brunette in their commercial?

The end credits should have "Proud to be an American" or some Kid Rock garbage song
playing as they scroll.

One more "war is hell" type cliche and this movie will set a record for most war is hell cliches.

Think I have everything I need to make a Denver Omelet. Check fridge for a bell pepper.

A little too tense for boys in the 8-10 demo, might be perfect for boys 11-16. Lots of action, an older and musclebound role model, cute girls, and a "you can save the day" message. Will not be received well by critics who will ask why Chris took this role. Critics who do give this a positive review will have insights such as "a fun ride", "great action", and "a rollercoaster of a ride".

It's a must see for people who must see a guy that sees stuff, usually in a dark room with a projector.

I was completely underwhelmed with Sinister.

Why did you subject yourself to such punishment, Luke? Do you think these movies are just a poor attempt to cash in on the nostalgia for the previous films?

What's next, Top Gun? Weird Science? Porky's? Honey, I Shrunk the Kids?
