Same here and their prices were always terrible (i.e. charging full price for a 5 year old game).Sarge wrote:I haven't seen a Sears with a gaming section in years.

do you just see them there or do you ask the worker for prices?Cronozilla wrote:My Sears has a quarter of an aisle and everything is launch MSRP for like PS2 games.
Yeah, lots of sears have crappy videogame sections. But since they dont sell much, they go to clearance.
Sometimes they're too lazy to put up the sale or clearance tag.
I recently got Mario Kart 7 for 3ds for $14.97
Luigi's Mansion for 3ds is $29.97 right now and the schedule for price dropping on the 7th of november should make it either $15 or $20.
Pokemon x and y is going for the same right now. $29.97
Stuff that doesn't sell goes clearance and they go down little by little. So it doesn't hurt to keep checking back.
They dont like to do it or sometimes they cant. but there are personal price scanners that workers carry. They sometimes give future sale prices.
Have them scan a game and on the device. a few more button pushes will tell them when it goes down some more.
In the store where I work at, the device, when I use it is telling me that on the 7th it should go down. Its usually on that day or a few days later, when the register shows the new price.
So dont be afraid to ask.

The prices are on the games. They have clearance "bins" too. There will be about 6 stickers on the thing just marking the game down by 5 cents or something. It's really ridiculous.flojocabron wrote:do you just see them there or do you ask the worker for prices?Cronozilla wrote:My Sears has a quarter of an aisle and everything is launch MSRP for like PS2 games.
I've asked, they just say the price is what's marked.
Then again, I don't really care too much about owning Dora the Explorer on PS2.
Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games
Even though I won't get one again but I just thought of something. Let's say I get a Wii at GameStop because its a crazy price on black Friday. Now if I call Nintendo to transfer my games from one system to another will the games on the other system that I sold to a guy from Craigslist, will they not play for him anymore and I get all my games back?
I wonder if anyone has ever done a dick move like that or if that is even possible

I'm not getting one. Just was curious Thats all
Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games
If it's an original model Wii that's not possible, as your Wii Shop "account" is tied directly to your Wii. It is one of the only systems that you can sell with your digital downloads on it, as the store "account" becomes the property of the new owner. The 3DS used to be the same way until the introduction of the account based system.mas wrote:Even though I won't get one again but I just thought of something. With the account based system on the Wii U...it is technically possible to forget to remove your account information...and then try and get your account back. However in practice, dealing with Nintendo, that is a very difficult process. If you were trying to do it as a dick move, aka you were intending on revoking all the digital content after someone had purchased it from you with the understanding that the digital content was included, you'd *really* have to want to be a dick. Nintendo generally will not undertake an account transfer on your behalf unless you send them the old system and the new system. If your Wii U is stolen, and you can prove it with serial number, receipt, and police report...it can be done...but it's still not easy and requires a lot of time and paperwork.
