What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Y'know when I watched it (sometime in the last few months, for the first time) I kept thinking that it was so disjointed, and the random animated sequences were just that - random. I wondered what the hell Bakshi was thinking when he directed it.scarper wrote:Cool World
One of the weirdest movies I have ever seen. You're way better off watching Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The movie as a whole is a very interesting idea, but was overall very poorly put together. I recommend this to any and all stoners.
If you want to watch a terrible movie, then watch Cool World, because its the best terrible movie out there right now.
Then, I read that Bakshi actually told animators 'just do what you want. just make whatever and put it in there.' So it literally was completely random, and it made the movie even worse. It was so awful.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
After buying it real cheap and losing it in my stuff a few weeks. I finally found the movie 2012.
I really had that sense of dread while I was watching it. I think I would have liked it on the big screen.
I guess you can say I'm a fan of direcor Roland Emmerich. I liked both Independence day and day after tomorrow. 10,000bc was meh.
But 2012 was surprizingly decent. I know he is a master at Disaster Porn. So those destruction scenes had my attention.
Like With any disaster movie, you have to suspend your disbelief. A movie has to convey destruction in less than two hours, and also to keep the plot going. In real life, it would take years for so much destruction to come. The same with the people in it. In those movies the main character is a bad-ass and handles everything thrown at him with more action.
But the world ending looks so damn cool.
Like many of his movies, theres always the motto of "humanity will survive." Its prevalent in almost all his movies. And his movies leaves your imagination (at least in mine)thinking over what would happen in that world afterwards. Which is the sign of a good movie.
The only thing I would criticize is that If a solar flare that huge would reach the earth, how would electronics still work?
2012 is another good disaster flick. It doesn't have anything to do with whats coming in a few weeks.

Cabin in the Woods

Pretty good. Basically a horror fan's love letter to the genre.
