Smile: I have confronted and crushed almost every doubt and criticism concerning my budget proposal for Fall 2013 from the board.

Frown: The only doubts and critiques that remain are in my own head.

I don't think I've taken mine off more than once or twice a year or so (if that) in a decade, and then only for less than a minute or so to clean it or if I go swimming (which I rarely ever do).

On my honeymoon my ring slipped off in the hotel pool and I had to spend some time diving to find it.

So yeah, I have the same attachment to it. I hope you find it, Stark.
I take mine off at night when I sleep, when I shower, or when I use the restroom.

I flushed my original down the toilet once so that's why I take it off for restroom. It cam also trap moisture and leaves that wrinkling on my skin if on too long. Plus it feels weird to have on my hand while sleeping, so it goes on the nightstand.

I wear my band on my right hand (kinda have to), which has led to some interesting discussions as it's a sign of being a widower.

While we're on the subject of wedding rings/bands, I have a friend who is a jeweler who was able to get platinum bands on the cheap. Saved a couple hundred by looking through a standard jewelry catalog. It was the least rip-off option available.
Yeah, I had a cheap tungsten carbide ring as my original. We thought it looked cool and it was light. My replacement was an expensive platinum band from tiffanys as punishment. Set me back close to 2k

That happened to me last year. My ring fell off while I was in the Lazy River at Jay Peak. I didn't think we would be able to find it since the water moves pretty quick but one of the life guards was successful.

Yikes. I bet you dollars to donuts my ring and yours consist of the same amount of platinum and I probably spent at least $1,600 less. I need to find that catalog so I can share, but the bands aren't listed as "wedding bands" just "white gold rings, gold rings, platinum rings, etc."

I also wear my deceased Grandfather's (maternal) wedding band from time to time, which he gave to me before he passed. It is a gaudy Gold ring studded with diamonds and a Tigers eye stone. It looks tacky as all get out, and I don't believe in ghosts, but I do feel a sense of comfort when I wear it.

I still remember the exact moment he gave me his ring. My entire (known) family was there, in Chicago, and it was right before Alzheimer's disease really took over his life. He cried, I smiled. Sometimes I think it was the last big decision he made in his life, which is quite touching.

Okay, enough with the sappiness.

Smile: Last night my wife and I upgraded our light switches without any electrocutions. Now when it is dark in any room, in the entire house, the light switch will glow so you know exactly where it is.

Truth: I purchased my wet blanket brother in law (my wife's brother) a lap dance on my bachelor party. Weak.

Weak...and, to be honest that is not really what the inscription on my wedding band says. It actually says, "You are not allowed to go to strip clubs anymore...without me." (My wife is super cool. It is the young children that put an end to the reckless ways of our youth.)

Maybe, this ring is heavy. I think it is about .4 oz, so just in weight it is $750ish given current platinum prices...
