The main concerning thing for me is the lack of games. I'm buying one because A: I'm a hardcore gamer, B: I love Nintendo, C: I love portable consoles and D: OMG DID YOU SEE MARIO ODYSSEY AND ZELDA!!!???

But games-wise, it was all a bit meh to me. And why don't they have more games out at launch? Skyrim isn't out until summer? Isn't that a bit of a joke considering it's a 5/6 year old game and the PS4/XB1 remaster came out months ago? Why isn't 1-2 Switch packed in with the console? It looks like a tech demo and it doesn't look very appealing. Packed in it would have helped shift consoles at least.

I'll be honest, the lack of games is the most concerning thing. That was a big factor in killing the Wii U. There's lots of developers apparently on board, but the announced games and list of what's coming out 2017 is quite sparse. The Wii U also had a lot of developers/publishers on board and less than 3 months in they all started jumping ship...

I have more games for the Wii U than the PS4 and Xbone combined. I've found the majority of titles on the PS4 and Xbone that I'd be interested in are on PC.

I don't.

The quality in my Wii U games is much higher though

I've got more Wii U games as well. Of course, I've had it for a lot longer, but Nintendo puts out more games that appeal to me in general. I might have... eight games for my PS4?

EDIT: Actually, let's see...

Metal Gear Solid V
Witcher 3
Batman: Arkham Knight
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Tales of Zestiria
Divinity: Original Sin
Song of the Deep
Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster
Lego Jurassic World
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero

I think that's it. So it was true until Black Friday this year. ;)

My thoughts:

The system itself seems pretty cool and eventually i will get one. Hoping for a Gold Zelda themed one eventually or ill just get the red/blue controller one.

However the games are lacking really bad, and i feel like most of the games are "re-masters" or "deluxe" or a rehash of existing games, which annoys me the most.

As far as im concerned Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is bull$hit, why dont they just make a Mario Kart 9 instead, also its pretty dirty that they are releasing Breath of Wild on the Switch a month before the Wii U version, obviously this a selling point to buy a Switch.

Overall, the game lineup is major lacking as usual.

Game list:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
1-2 Switch
Super Bomberman R
Skylanders Imaginators
Just Dance 2017
SnipperClippers
Fast RMX
Has-Been Heroes
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Arms
Disgaea 5 Complete
Puyo Puyo Tetris
Rime
Splatoon 2
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim
Super Mario Odyssey
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Ultra Street Fighter 2 The Final Challenge
Minecraft
EA Sports FIFA
Sonic Mania
I Am Setsuna
Steep
Syberia 3
NBA 2K
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Not alot of original titles.

Bionic Commando and Mega Man would like to have a word with you. ;)
Definitely all three of them would get into a room, unanimously agreed with the first statement, then went back to hibernation sleep. :)

You know some may say the list looks sparse, but is it really? I'd agree if it wasn't for the E3 in June, PAX east and west, and also the Tokyo Game Show where Nintendo likes to hold stuff back for. I don't see how that really would be everything(given no delays) for 10 months of the year.

It's launching the same day according to their twitter feed. I don't think retailers have updated the date though. Honestly I think releasing it later on Wii U would have helped their console sales but really any form of delay would have been BS.

The Mario Kart thing doesn't really bother me. Well, it sort of does, given that I already own it, but think about how much of a flop the Wii U was. There are tons of titles that the ostensible Switch market hasn't played. They could likely sell a ton more copies to folks that don't already have it.

Wonder if I should be looking at trading in my copy, though. Good thing I haven't bought any DLC!
