Our New Year's Eve festivities included:
Four-player Sonic All Star Racing transformed. I wasn't thrilled that as player 1 (with the game pad) all my racing was done on the pad screen and not on the main TV. Sure it was a bigger screen but the other three racers couldn't see anything going on with me - or where I finished, etc because it was all on the pad. Still - a lot of fun and we got to break out the battle modes and the chao capture mode.
New Super Mario Bros U - three-player coin battles where I used the gamepad for the boost mode - plucking enemies, breaking bubbles and putting out the areas to jump on. Not a ton to do with the pad, but everyone had fun on the wiimotes.
Nintendo Land: Strictly the five-player vs. modes here. So Luigi's Mansion - the flashlight players (I was the gamepad) felt it was a little too much in the ghost's favor (due to speed and how slow you are with the light on) but they weren't saving any of the fallen players because of the time it took (and strategic poaching by me). Mario Chase = huge success. Even the animal crossing game had laughs with it.
All-in-all a good night for the WiiU. Everyone left happy.
