It SUCKS. It wouldn't be so bad if each song were different, but instead there's about 5 or 6 versions of every song. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is the one that gets on my nerves the most.

It gets worse, they do that every year. And it's always the exact same songs!

Yeah, that's the thing: they don't come out with new "classic" Christmas songs every year. They have to be old so they'll be the same next year.

You two have my sympathy, as does anyone else working retail or has Christmas music playing. I was already sick of holiday music by the time I had a job at K Mart years ago. I really really hated Christmas music after that. It's freaking terrible to listen to the same few songs over and over every day for a month. I worked in sporting goods/automotive and all the holiday stuff would be a few aisles over from my register. The musak was bad enough, but I had to deal with all the lights and decorations that play music too. Nothing like the cacophony of 10 different holiday tunes playing at different speeds.

But the worst was one year when there was a Disney light set that had about 8 character heads on it. Each head 'sang' a note in that character's voice. So Mickey made one note, Goofy another and such. We hated that thing so much. My fellow sports/auto workers would unplug that set all the time. The pharmacy would as well since they were on the other side of the Christmas stuff. We'd usually manage an hour or so before one of the store managers would walk by, notice, and plug it back in.

I was going to post this in the Video Link Dump Thread, but figured it would make sense as a Reply here. If a singer wanted his song to be heard every year forever, make it a Christmas song, I mean look at Burl Ives. This song may not play 100 years from now but I like it!

I am suffering through this right now. I work in L&G/Tools and thankfully its over in a few days.

The holiday music on the PA and the musical decorations blaring.

I have gotten used to ignoring it. But it still creeps around your head.

I have 10 more months before I have to forcefully hear it again.
