One of my friends was spoiled throughout his entire childhood (not to mention early adulthood). He never had to do work study, Wal-Mart, fast food, any of that other shit I considered a normal rite of passage. His very first job (at 26) - neurologist. :lol:

The first job I got was when I painted three black and white portraits for my community college. It didn't require that much work (I only spent probably the equivalent of a week on them), but I got paid to do it, so, job :)

Exercise and dieting are so confusing. I get told not to run so as not to hurt my joints, but then the same doctor tells me to run more to lose weight. I've been told by many not to eat more carbs than I need, but they tell me to eat more grains to get more fiber. I'm told by my doctor that I should get a gym membership. I explain to him the problems I have with getting a ride, along with my distance from any gyms. Then he tells me to "lift at home", ignoring the fact that I would have NOBODY to spot me, which we've gone over.

Run, pushups, situps/crunches, and eat relatively well and take a multivitamin.

Not that hard.

Been doing all of that besides running, and nothing. I've gained weight, so I'm pretty sure I've gained some muscle, but this layer of belly fat and moobs are getting to me. Besides hurting my self esteem, it pushes the ladies away.

The running will help with the body fat. Unless you have joint problems now, I wouldn't worry about it. Running and joint issues is something you worry about when you're 40. Then you can take up swimming.

I'm very fit at this point, but don't look it at all for the record. I weigh more, about 20lbs more than when I started. I still have the same small layer of belly fat I've had since I was 13 and I still look like a lanky nerd.

Just lose the fucking carbs man. Eat meat, fish, veggies and a little fruit. No grains (bread, pasta, cereal, rice...) whatsoever. no potatoes. Drink water with freshly squeezed lemon juice in the morning and nothing but water during the day...

Do moderate exercise. Walking is good...

You still don't get thin: give up...

I remember back in the day when bread was considered healthy.. Boy do times change.. It sucks because a lot of the best foods use bread and not so much oils or fatty foods..
