The FFVIII guide is pretty dang nice. The FFIX guide was a little lacking though. I was a little disappointed that I had to go online for half the info.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Final Fantasy VIII and IX strategy guides, $6 each. Local game store.

Ugh you're right, that FFIX guide is fucking awful. Looks like it was designed as a ploy to get people to sign up for Squaresoft's PlayOnline service.dunpeal2064 wrote:The FFVIII guide is pretty dang nice. The FFIX guide was a little lacking though. Gamecube Nintendo Brand Component Cable
$4.99 at Gamestop

http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/Product ... t_id=32149
http://www.gamestop.com/browse/storesea ... sku=900572
Don't think, just click the link and see if you get lucky! It will be mislabeled at the site, stating for both Gamecube and the N64. If the link shows that the cable is no longer available go to any Gamestop and give the SKU below to a Sales Associate, hopefully won't not know the value of this rare cable. If the Sales Clerk finds one anywhere in the city go get it immediately!
900572 - Gamecube Cable Gamestop SKU
Just to give an idea of the value, here is my older post:
My near impossible lucky find
I always check the used accessories whenever I am in Gamestop, always on the lookout for an unusual controller or accessory. I spotted the the Green and Blue RCA plugs in the bag buried behind other bags on a peg hook. I figured it was just a PS2 component cable but decided to see what the price was. Wait a minute, why such a big lug on the end? The fat plug looked like it went to a 360 at first, thats when I recognized the half circle ridge on the digital end! I yelled out loud "I DON'T FREEKIN BELIEVE IT!", then took a deep breath and looked again while twisting the plug around inside the bag. One side has Nintendo and the other has the writing Gamecube embossed on it. Do my eyes deceive me? The price tag states Gamecube Component Cable with its very own SKU at $4.99!
I went straight to the register and bought the cable, the sales associate had no idea how much it is worth on EBay! So now I have a $100 dollar backup cable that cost me less then five bucks! Even saved an extra fifty cents with a Gamestop discount card.
A remote SKU printout
This comes in handy when you really don't want to give another store a warning of a rare find sitting on their store. I visited another Gamestop later on the day and curious if any other store might have one. Also I had to gloat, asked the sales Associate to look up a SKU.
"Can you print me up SKU number 900572 for the entire district?"
"Sure, no need for a print, only one store at --- shows one on hand."
"I know I just bought it, paid five bucks and it goes for a hundred on EBay!"
Co worker yells out "No Way!"
"What? You got a Gamecube Component Cable? I never seen one!"
"Hang on, I'll get it from the truck."
Upon returning, "Man you are so lucky!" I then passed on the tale of my PAL Alien Hominid Find.
My hope this same scenario plays out when the WiiU comes to market. Maybe Metroid Trilogy might finally drop to a reasonable price. I have two Gamestops spotted out that have the set CIB, hitting the site for price checks every few days. Nope still showing at 69 bucks.
My Cheshire Cat Grin is a lot bigger then the trademark smile embossed onto the plastic plug of the proprietary cable. This almost tops my find of a PS2 PAL Alien Hominid in a U.S. region Gamestop
Now here is a SKU you don't see very often:

I bought my Gamecube Component Cable off EBay, I think at the time I paid around forty bucks. Fortune smiled on me today in finding a second one a lot cheaper!CRTGAMER back in December 2010 wrote:http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 12#p352112
Amazon has a couple at, sheese now they are up to 99 bucks!

You can always go EBay, averaging 60 to 70 bucks, still painful.
Once in a while a lucky bid at 30 bucks, watch the added shipping charge.

A near impossible but you never know lucky find, this mislabeled SKU for five bucks.
Most likely a Gamecube S-Video or Wii component in the Gamestop bag.

As a holdover go S-Video, until you find that elusive expensive Component cable.

I'm gonna try that today. Why's the SKU different on that one?
