Upgraded stasis is the game changer. It breaks so much. IF you time it right, you can stasis then throw both types of bombs. Itll make most anything go sideways.

alright so I went back to the lab and found out... I need ancient materials to get the upgrades. And lucky me: I had just sold all my ancient stuff to get those stealth pants. Cool. So now I'm just grinding for rupies and looking for shrines to kill some baby guardians for ancient parts. I've got the stealth mask now anyway.

The most economical (if not best overall) method of taking out Guardians - even the big ones - is parrying their laser attack (I think some need 2-3 hits from it). Lock on so that you're facing it directly and the parried shot travels exactly back to the eye.
The neat thing about parrying is, it doesn't wear down the shield, and it's not dependent on stats. So, you can do it with whatever. Better shields will help your survivability if you miss the timing is all.

So, what you can do is save your game, and then engage one and try. If you get it right, collect your ancient parts and save again. If you fail (and I failed, a lot), you can just reload.

Not that they're the only thing that parrying will make a lot easier, but there's a dramatic difference between killing them that way versus most other methods (Ancient arrows kind of wreck everything, but they're expensive).

does that work on the bigger guardians that you encounter outside of shrines, or just the little babby ones inside shrines? The bigger guardians scare me and I just run away.

Any of them. The only real difference is how many hits they need to take out. The disabled, stationary ones tend to take one hit, whereas the full strength ones take three I think.

shows it a bit. I found it easier to figure out a general distance to get to, then use the animation/sound to key off of.

Once you get the laser beam parrying down you will feel incredibly badass. I highly recommend you give it a shot.

+1

This skill is critical for the endgame, and it makes taking out the guardians a snap.

Not sure if it was mentioned but the ruined guardians have one random part when you get close or climb them. You can topple over a few for more underneath.
