Strongly agree I remember when everyone was saying Sony was going to go under...I plan on buying both and enjoying both. It's new marketing to try to make money...doesn't mean they don't have a few titles that I love.

It's not that it's new and different. It's that its more of the same old crap. I'm not going to blindly hop on some new paradigm where video games are harder to preserve, harder to share, harder to sell, and consumers are forced to put up with extraneous requirements to benefit publishers.
I do think there's a good chance the thing will sell well, but I don't think the downsides are being greatly exaggerated.

The DRM on the PS4 is still
unclear, despite the PR coup at E3. Sources are leaking contradicting information. I guess in time all will be made clear.
Come to think of it, the last system I had that was considered "early adoption" was the MSX =P

Myth. Of course a manufacturer would love to see every last penny of every last licensed game on their platform, but the reason for this DRM is to snare consumers into
not owning their games.

Actually, this would be more accurate:
This gen's DRM consoles:XBoner
This gen's consoles which will allow a company to choose to use DRM:PS4
This gen's DRM-free consoles:Wii U
3DS
Vita
Neo Geo X
That's an important distinction, because it will let companies decide if they want to pursue a DRM policy. And adopters of the PS4 can choose to either purchase those games or purchase to choose other games that do not have DRM. Sony has already stated they don't intend to put any DRM on Sony-developed games.

The so called DRM that Sony was allowing publishers to use was just online passes, no?
