Shit, I remember watching a porn movie on VHS when I was younger and hearing my mother put the key in the lock. She came home earlier than expected. No time to get the cassette out. So I put the player on sleep. Mother comes in. First thing she says: "Think I'm going to watch that Sons and Daughters episode I taped last night now."

Haha, it was a treasure hunt back in the day then you had to setup a fortress of security back at home or have some extensive plans to keep things hidden. The extremes I went too deleting history/cookies/temp files back then...

The lock? Hell I was listening for a car coming up the driveway.

Amusingly the most stressful time I had listening for someone coming home was when I'd borrowed Rygar for NES. I was grounded and not supposed to be playing any video games. My mom was out for the afternoon and I had no instructions or hints on how to play. After 5 or 6 hours of stumbling around and jumping up to check every time a car drove by, I beat the game.
