I've noticed that too. Ditto with music releases.BoneSnapDeez wrote:It's surprisingly tough to find accurate release dates for really old games.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I'm attempting the "Year Challenge" (play one game per year from (in my case) 1976 to present) and I've been cross-referencing Wikipedia, GameFAQs, and RFGen to get accurate release dates. Not to mention the dates printed on actual carts, when available.
But I still run into problems. I'm finding info about Intellivision games that were supposedly released in 1978 even though the console itself launched in '79. Maybe people are mixing up release date and development date?

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Are you looking at copyright dates? This sort of thing happens with Diecast cars. The date on the package or bottom of the car is usually the year before they actually debut on the market. Just to make things worse, if the car is released in a different color next year, the date won't change on the car unless they make a modification, but the package copyright will change. Kind of like if a game gets a plain old reprint next year it will probably have the same year on it, but if there's a GH, GOTY, DLC inclusion, or some sort of bugfix it might get a new year on it.

Arika is looking to crowdfund Tetris The Grandmaster 4!!!!!
TGM3 is one of the best games ever made, leagues beyond the usual Tetris World rehases, so the possiblity of getting a new game in the series is very exciting to me. I haven't crowdfunded anything, but given the company and the low budget (a mere 80.000 dollars), I may look into it.

Puyo Puyo Tetris sounds absolutely fantastic. Make it an RPG and I will lose it!
