So... is Tim Burton directing the new Lone Ranger movie or something? I see Johnny Depp playing Jack Sparrow playing Tonto, and I see Helena Cancer Carter in it too.
Is the name Gore Verbinski just a pseudonym for Burton? You couldn't get a Native American to play a Native American?
COME ON.
What was the last movie you've seen?

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago. Depp is part Native American, but I wonder how the Native American community as a whole will think about Depp playing Tonto.indecks wrote: You couldn't get a Native American to play a Native American?
COME ON.
Watched MADEA'S BIG HAPPY FAMILY and THE LOST BOYS yesterday. Big Happy Family is pretty great. It always gets more than a few laughs out of me. Seriously guys, it is worth seeing.

I just hate Johnny Depp. He plays the same douchebag character in everything he's been in. Yes even Gilbert Grape. There's a scene in the trailer where he's making a Jack Sparrow face. Come on dude, come up with something new. Even Jim Carrey isn't just doing Ace Ventura 27 now. Your schtick sucks.
Moonrise Kingdom
I really like Wes Anderson movies. I haven't seen Life Aquatic, which I totally need to - but I really liked The Royal Tenenbaums, and I absolutely adore Fantastic Mr. Fox. I think Fox is probably my favorite of his movies. Anderson and Michel Gondry should have a clone made, where one half is Gondry and the other is Anderson. Society needs this to happen.
Anyway, Moonrise Kingdom was kind of slow going, but still an entertaining movie. Dialogue is great as usual and the kids acting was pretty damn awesome. The little girl they got to play the main girl was really great and fit in with the Anderson style direction. I think this is her first film. She'll be doing great in the future. Harvey Keitel was a little underused in the film, but it was still nice to see him in there. Ed Norton was very "Death to Smoochie-Norton", rather than douche-Norton, which is awesome.

He's Disney property now. Prepare to see even more of him.

Upon my second viewing, Prometheus's flaws became vididly more evident, and Maddox's points resonate ever more strongly. I did re-watch Alien to make a blatant comparison, and the 1979 classic is still far superior despite being 33 years older. Prometheus was the only film I put up with crappy theatre for this year, and I don't think I'll ever bother for a long time with anything new from Hollywood.

He was a lot easier on the movie than I was/am.
Surprising. Even more surprising is that Maddox is still making updates on his site. Thought the guy "retired" back in 2006.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
His legacy is still propelling him I guess
I think I might relent and watch Looper.
