DREDD 3D makes RISES look like a long ride to Grandma's house, even if you like long rides and your Grandma.

Rises is definitely good, but yeah it's not quite on the level of Dark Knight, and it's not executed as smoothly all around as Avengers.
You could consider Rises the Return of the Jedi to TDK's Empire Strikes Back. I think it's a stronger finale all around than Jedi was personally though.
Just keep your expectations in check and you'll be happy I think.
I felt Batman Begins was better than both of those, anyways. There was so much more story and the character of Bruce Wayne was so determined and driven (almost to the point of obsessive compulsive) in that film. Plus it was the first time we were exposed to Christopher Nolan's dark and gritty Batman universe.

nothing is cheesier than him in the bar dancing in kickboxer.lol
i liked timecop. i think lionheart is my favorite.
I remember liking Timecop, too. But I was a kid. I saw that it was available to watch on AT&T U-Verse, so I'll be watching again very soon. First I have to watch Predator 2 and Aliens vs. Predator again.

The Avengers was good, don't get me wrong. But overall... it didn't really pull me all that well. It felt as if it moved a bit too fast, and it looked to me like somebody put a bunch of the brightly colored toys on a background and made a stop motion. The heroes/villians looked so awkward. I had higher expectations than I should of.
I'm still happy with Rises. I do believe DK was better, as is the consensus. I want to see all these action movies coming out though... I need a movie buddy again.

You say that as if one should expect crazy high octane awesome action sequences from Nolan.
