Resogun

^There's your three PS4 exclusives that are already out and all worth playing. Worth noting is that the PS4 also has the best console ports thus far this gen.

3 good games doesn't necessarily mean its 3 games you consider to be worth buying a system for.

None of those would be on my list for 'makes the system worth buying' even if I would probably play a couple of them if I got the system (definitely Resogun).

It's the same for me and the Vita. It probably has 5 or so games (which is generally my number for non-Nintendo platforms) to justify buying it, but I've definitely found more to enjoy since I got it. I just wouldn't necessarily have bought the system for Dragon's Crown or Metal Gear Solid collection, even if I do like them.
Fair enough, but he agreed that "three games that interest him" would be sufficient and these three are all good games. Turns out he doesn't care for two of them at all in general, so that means there aren't a ton more exclusives already out to get excited about.

Some have automatically become PS4 cross buy games (e.g. Flower, Flow, Sound Shapes, Dead Nation, etc.). Many of the titles that have come out on both (e.g. Strider) in the last few months have also been cross buy (often with the Vita too - buy once and get three versions of it for free). But, as a general rule, most of the PS3 downloadable games have not and probably won't become available on the PS4 (for free or otherwise).

The new Infamous looks and sounds good but I wouldn't say I loved the first game. It was well made and entertaining, but it didn't really amaze me. I can see myself trying this new one eventually but it won't motivate me to buy the system for it.
Infamous was mediocre, and I didn't even play the second one, but I hope this new one is good. I'm really waiting for the PS4 to get a must play exclusive title and I don't think it's happened yet. Same goes for the Xbox One. The best things I've played on PS4 so far have been mult-platform titles and most of my recent purchases have been PS3 games. I like my PS4, but honestly, PS 3 is kicking its ass for my attention at the moment if we're talking number of interesting new titles

I feel like next gen really hasn't started yet.
As someone who isn't into most western games, I agree with you. PS3 and Vita both provide me plenty ATM. I can't see myself getting a PS4 until another year or so.

New Infamous looks good.

But yeah... I'm starting to not care about the cross gen games coming out left and right lately and will probably just stick with PS3 versions. Originally I wanted to hold off since the better versions will be on the Xbone/PS4... but oh well at this point, and "better" probably isn't much. Even Watch Dogs is 360/PS3 apparently? I never knew that was happening. I might "upgrade" in the future for a few exceptions, but yeah.

Someone call me when this gen truly starts.

Well I am now an official PS4 owner and I love it! I only own Killzone Shadow Fall so far, and it is a great game. I also own the PSN+ games, which I haven't really played much; so I can't give a fair opinion on those.

Well if contrast is still on there it's worth a play, I played it when I first got mine(and while it is short) it's a great game. They really do a great job with the story and everything...

Sony is definitely met demand, I just saw a stack at the local Costco.

It'll be this holiday season most likely. There's always a year where the old consoles keep on going alongside the new ones.

Maybe in the US. PS4s are unicorns over here, both on and off base.
