I hope it's still episodic, but chances of that in this day and age seem kind of low. Have they mentioned anything about that?

And yeah, Into Darkness is one of the worst movies ever made.

It will be a long story arc they already mentioned long ago. They put the ice on this fan film so they could tell their own story.

I agree about the Klingons, I don't like the new look. As far as the action focus, it's a trailer, it's meant to draw in. I'm sure the show will have light hearted moments. Plus an all out war with the Klingons across the quadrant and tensions with Romulans will cause plenty of action.

As long as it's faithful to previous Trek and doesn't take itself too serious like most modern shows, it could be pretty good.
2009 still kind of ventures into near-parody with some of the characters still, but I agree it was OK for what it was. Whether I want to or not though, Into Darkness was so bad it retroactively effected my feelings on the earlier film somewhat.

They've been implying it's going to be heavily serialized storytelling so I wouldn't get my hopes up for "problem of the week" stories.

To be fair, Axanar had its problems. They badly mismanaged their funds, sold merchandise and presented themselves as a professional studio. Unlike most fan films they crossed a line regardless of if what they were trying to make looks better than what CBS came up with. They weren't exactly innocent victims.

Unfortunately it pressured CBS into crafting draconian guidelines for future fan films which may end up crippling amazing fan productions like Star Trek Continues.

I'm not going to go negative on this, far too easy, and not about what looks like a good show but the bullying CBS is doing to the USA. I read earlier, can't confirm it, but once they have all 15 episodes of the arc done supposedly sometime after Netflix USA is going to get it. So perhaps we're only being temporarily held for punishment and ransom while elsewhere gets it broadcast still. Anyone seen more about this?

I'm fine waiting 6 months after the fact since they want to play games, otherwise there's always other means of finding things, and given the US trek nerd rage over it I'm sure it'll be thrown all over Mega and other sites fast.

I've not heard any official confirmation about it coming to Netflix in the US, only rumors. I imagine it will have to eventually because I doubt it's going to achieve whatever it is they're hoping for on CBS All Access.

That's where I am on it, can't confirm it but it makes sense and just seeing people say they got it 'somewhere' but no tie backs to a real report.

Either way, given what CBS did to future fan films based on Trek because of their obscene greed and childish behavior over Axanar and others I don't really feel a need to feed their wallets much anymore, especially at the TV (broadcast or net based) anymore.

I know a lot of folks who loved Into Darkness. I thought it was ham-fisted and inarticulate.

Khan changed races somehow. I at least hope the new series gets the ship sizes right. I refuse to accept the JJ trek ship sizes.

I like all 3 of those newer Trek films. Movie land as far as Trek went kind of got boring and off the rails with TNG. TV was doing fine until CBS/Paramount decided to really screw stuff up going back to when they jacked up and suicided out the Enterprise program which really needed to keep going.

I know they're more actiony and all that and a bit less cerebral with the newer Trek spinoff universe but they're fun and it seems to get a lot more people to approach the series who wouldn't touch it in the past.

I'd argue if you want more of the classic stuff watch a rerun or something fans make, but CBS has basically killed off fan movies now with their asinine overbearing terms which is really sad as they were doing no harm but raising more awareness and fan support.
