Have some of the usual members left Racketboy forums ?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

That was delicious.

I need to watch that movie.
You do....you seriously do.

@Tanooki

I don't want you gone, but my opinion doesn't matter. You are the one person who hates my guts on this forum and have blocked me, so you won't be reading this.

If it makes you feel better, BMF, I do not actively disdain you.

Hooray! I will take deposit that sentiment into the bank and maybe one day the interest will make it grow into love! :D

I just want to make sure we are on the same page regarding expectations. (You know I'm kidding, right? BMF, you are awesome.)

My posting has always been sporadic but I've never felt unwelcome on this site. I've had great conversations with several members, mods or otherwise whenever there's been common ground in interests. I never really paid attention to who was or wasn't mods when I was first posting. Seems like a lot of members are sporadic just because we're generally an older age demographic on this forum and have a lot going on.

I also tend to be fairly non-argumentative in my personality though. I've had disagreements with members, but never felt like I was being personally attacked or anything. I don't always agree with Luke, for instance, but have always enjoyed hearing his opinion and he's even gone out of his way to take time and help me with research via pm. But I still maintain that Pixels wasn't that bad.

I also never post expecting anyone to respond. It's nice when conversations get going, but that's just not always going to happen. I've been able to vent on this forum and have great conversations, and it's helped me to become much more outgoing over the last few years, as I have social anxiety which has been severely diminished in at least some part by always feeling welcome here whenever I pop in.

Haha of course I know you are kidding! You are awesome as well. I do marvel at your knowledge and vast collection that astounds me to this day! You are a man of legends!

I agree wholeheartedly. I have never once gone into posting on the site thinking that it will garner attention. I just want to express my opinion and if people read it and enjoy it, then yay mission accomplished. If not, no big deal. I also don't go looking to see who are mods, because what does that matter in the end? They are people just like you and I. I am happy that you post here Czernobog and am glad that the site has helped you overcome some of your social anxiety.

We are mostly adults with lives and we can't spend every waking moment on the site. A month is not that long in the grand scheme of things.

P.S. I just watched Pixels. It isn't the end of the world bad, but... it's not good.

Well, it isn't so much that someone might not read any given post.

What is annoying for me, is when you post something (be it an answer, informative fact, or general idea)... then shortly thereafter someone comes right after you and posts the exact same thing (even if worded slightly differently). Then people start to respond to that person's response as if it was the first response having said what you literally just said in a post or two before it. That situation makes you feel like either your own posts are being ignored, or there is simply favoritism going on. And that situation is a pet peeve of mine. However! I recognize that it mostly happens out of happenstance much more so than discrimination. And it happens on every forum not just this one.

The other thing that can be a pooper is when you put a bunch of effort into creating an informative thread with pics and links and it's just pretty much ignored. There can be a lot of reasons for that, and they are justified (not everybody is interested in old From Software games or a big Brandish review for example). But all the same it kinda rashes up your tush and makes you say "eh why bother" going forward.

Anapan wrote:What about our old castleroid/metroidvania topic? It's got a lot of old games that started the genre - all the way back to the Japanese x68000 and the FSD games not many people played, and included the indies that cloned the genre back in the day. All we need to do is flesh out the the pros and cons of each game, and include the new games that embraced the best parts and ran with it. I'm completely infatuated with Axiom Verge, and played a bunch of Mystik Belle recently.
I remember this topic was amazing. Axiom Verge and some of the other new ones look great, still need to check them out. Still really excited for Ghost Song.

(but I still hate Cave Story!)
