What do you want to know about it, I have one. Supports GB/GBC roms, playable in any device that was intended to play GB games (GB, GBC, Super Game Boy, Game Boy Player, etc)...you can put a 32GB microSD in there and carry the entirety of the GB/GBC libraries with you wherever you go. What more is there to know?marlowe221 wrote:I might be game for it too. It would be nice to talk to someone who has actually held one of these things and played some games on it though.Gunstar Green wrote:I've been wanting a GB Everdrive for convenience but if we could get enough people in on the K1's I'd go with that instead.
Why Isn't There a More Prominent Game Boy Scene?

Bought it, used it, hated it, sold it. Sub-par on every level, even when compared to clone systems rather than the real thing.fastbilly1 wrote:Looks like the K1 GBA SP does exactly what I want:

GBA, GB, GG, SMS, NES, and TG16. All for $60ish.
The d-pad and buttons are amongst the most abysmal I've ever used. Many times it simply does not respond to your button presses, period. The screen is not the same, and everything looks *bigger* (but not in a good way) from the actual GP. Skewed. It has trouble playing original carts...once you pull it out and put it in 10 times (yes, that is what she said) and it still doesn't work, you'll just want to throw it against a wall. Oh, and it doesn't take GB or GBC carts like an actual SP does.
I imagine the only reason they wholesale them now is because overall the product is a flop. Great idea, poor execution. Seriously, it is not worth getting a group buy on the things going...you can get an actual SP for a lot less, and then the flash cart of your choice. The K1 Card is no more capable of a flash cart than the EZ IV, and that's pretty widely available for about $25.

Yeah, it was the K1 that I was referring to before as far as someone with personal experience... Hate to hear that it is sub-par.irixith wrote:Bought it, used it, hated it, sold it. Good to know, I'll keep my sights on the GB Everdrive and forget about the K1.

That emulates for original GB games doesn't it (so it can play them on a micro)? How is the emulation quality?ninjainspandex wrote:for $70 you could buy a backlit official GBA SP 101 and an EZ Flash IV

This is not an emulator, it is basically a flashcart for storing and playing ROMs on actual hardware.Gunstar Green wrote:EZ Flash IV

I know that it plays the ROMs directly for GBA games, but I thought it didn't play original GB and GBC games without an emulator like Goomba Color.Exhuminator wrote:This is not an emulator, it is basically a flashcart for storing and playing ROMs on actual hardware.Gunstar Green wrote:EZ Flash IV

You would need to use Goomba for that, but yes, the EZ-Flash IV will allow you to do that so you can play on your micro.Gunstar Green wrote:That emulates for original GB games doesn't it (so it can play them on a micro)? Slight change of subject:
Just how hard is it to see the screen on a GBC? I have never actually owned one...
