October gaming begins!

Games I'm going to play:

1. I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream: I have it on Steam but always get stuck and don't want to use a guide. Want to try again since it's up for Together Retro.

2. Sweet Home for Famicom: I just received a cheap famicom pin converter and Sweet Home is on the way. Horror + RPG + Retro = drooling.

3. Deep Fear for Saturn: Also on it's way and something I've wanted to try for a long time.

As for movies,

I have a 50 horror movie collection sitting on my shelf that I may often put on in the background and if anything sucks me in, I'll give it a good watch. I also have a movie about killer frogs, apparently. Not sure where that came from.

As for the Halloween staples I want to watch, I'll have to dust off my VCR and get my Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Evil Dead, etc. tapes out for the occasion. Not sure about anything new though. Most horror movies the last few years have left me feeling unsatisfied. Kind of in the mood for a good ghost story, but can't find much.

DUDE

If that movie about frogs is called Frogs, you have to watch that shit. It is awesome.

Also, The Lady in White for ghost stories.

I'll look into both The Lady in White and Innkeepers, thanks!

The frogs movie is called Frogs. I'll have to pop that one in tonight.

Is it the 50 Horror Classics set put out by Mill Creek Entertainment, with a picture of Lon Chaney on the cover in his 1925 Phantom of the Opera makeup?

http://www.amazon.com/Horror-Classics-M ... B0001HAGTM

If so, I own the same set. I can name a few suggestions off there if you like. They're not all horror films, by the way.

Mine's this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/151425030543?lpid=82, but for all I know it may be the same collection. At the very least, I imagine quite a bit of crossover. It has some stuff like Metropolis I wouldn't consider horror.

It looks like they pretty much both have the same stuff, just a different cover and perhaps a different company, since these are all public domain stuff.

Anyway, of your set, I'd recommend checking these out, just for fun:

Carnival of Souls
Dementia 13
Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde
The House on Haunted Hill
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
The Last Man on Earth
The Little Shop of Horrors
Night of the Living Dead
The Phantom of the Opera
White Zombie

Also, that 1934 Maniac has been getting a lot of discussion here over the years. And there's a lot of schlock on these boxed sets, but sometimes turning on something like Killer Shrews, Atom Age Vampire, or The Beast of Yucca Flats is good for a laugh. I've always wanted to make an attempt at writing a book version of The Beast of Yucca Flats that actually makes sense and gives reasoning why the characters say and do some of the random crap they do in that movie.

I've only seen Night of the Living Dead, The House on Haunted Hill, and the Phantom of the Opera out of those, so I'll check out the rest! I have seen Killer Shrews during a night of beer with a couple friends and it was one to remember. One friend got all belligerent about how they were apparently gluing scraps of clothes to stray dogs, and then started flipping out during the trash can scene.
