Make sure you try The Witcher 2 though.

The Witcher 2 is pretty amazing.

Top 5 RPG's of all time? Hmmmmmmm:

Ultima 7: DOS (Only the most complex RPG ever created!)
Demons Souls (PS3)
Dark Souls (PS3)
Might and Magic World of Xeen (DOS)
Dragon Age: Origins

Those are just the 5 that popped into my head... Although Demons and Dark Souls are basically one in the same. But also both fantastic games on their own. I keep preaching the Ultima song but if your a hardcore RPG fan and haven't at least played the Ultima 7's, you need to. They are a bit antiquated from an interface perspective but still very playable and amazingly complex.

Love seeing those DOS RPGs... b4 I got into them. My first experience was renting Dragon Warrior & I was so confused lol. My DOS days were filled with Wolfenstein & Doom :)

My friend just gave me Dark Souls II, what do you think of the game?

Ooh, FF1, huh? Interesting choice. What sets it apart for you?

I always thought Final Fantasy I was one of the stronger Final Fantasy games. It's really, really good.

I would love to hear what makes FF1 stand above the others for you guys as well. I always felt it was a good start, but its formula was pretty quickly improved upon. By FFV, I felt the first game was nearly irrelevant. Garland is awesome though.

FF 1 has been my favorite since I was a kid. I've probably beaten it 3 or 4 times over 25 years or so (always on NES). I could never get into the sequels. I've tried FF 3, 7, 13. I've never made it past an hour or two (although I plan on playing FF 3). The style of the later games turns me off. I like the simple, classic charm of the original.

Same story for Dragon Warrior. I love the simplicity. I've never played the sequels, but 2 and 3 seem very similar; I bet they are good.
