I think at that point an angry group of gamers would invade their office and deliver some good old fashioned mob justice

Personally I think Capcom won't touch it because the PR would be toxic and ultimately I think they wouldn't succeed in a court battle considering past video game lawsuit precedents. Is it a knock-off? Sure, but is it infringing any copyrights? That's a very difficult argument to win. You can't copyright a genre and you can't sue someone for borrowing tropes, gameplay mechanics or making blatant expy characters.

I'm also sure they did a good bit of research on what they can and can't get away with in regards to skirting around Capcom's intellectual property. We haven't seen the gameplay yet either so we don't know what's changed and what's stayed the same.

I am however wondering if Capcom will make some kind of statement about Mighty No. 9, either positive or negative in nature, or if they're outright going to pretend it doesn't exist. If they do choose to acknowledge it all, and I'm not sure if they should, I think they would garner a lot of good will from the fans if they wished Inafune luck on his endeavor or something.

I question the need to post a real life pic of any kind to illustrate the concept of "mob justice."

I think we all understand well what the phrase means.

Really dude, I'm asking in a friendly manner, please remove that picture. It's really untasteful and disturbing.
