I don't always get the 1up either. Someone posted earlier that you have to take out the side pods of the large battleship with your laser.
yeah I miss it if I panic-bomb on that screen.

Nice score dude, that is no small task. Def. a score to be proud of. I need to work on that stage 4 boss, maybe if played MAME I could use a save state or something.

thanks man. My last few runs have been in the 7M range, and I feel close to improving that as I'm getting better and better at Stage 3... grabbing that extend plus the 6M extend is huge. I need to learn the S3 boss though. I end up panic-bombing him too much and ending up in trouble right away on S4. But yeah... any improvement feels good in a game like this. :)

Stick with Saturn if you don't play your PCB man. You're not a save-state MAMEr. You know that.

Do we still say, "Woot!", if so, "Woot!", that is solid for never having played. No novice can clear that second boss, let alone stage 3's beginning of the madness.

Be proud dude - furreal.

thx dood. That's actually really reassuring. I love shmups -- probably my favorite genre. But I don't feel I'm great. Especially coming off of Mars Matrix last month. That game made me feel like an idiot as I just could not grasp scoring or survival in that one. But hitting 8M in less than a week here really feels like an accomplishment for me. And what's even better is I feel far from tapped out. I feel like I can def improve in the coming month which is exciting. A bit of a reminder of why I love shmups so much. They are easily the most rewarding genre of games I can think of.

On the St 3 boss, try to take out the turrets in the front and center first. Then take out the shoulder cannons that shoot the narrow pink bullets as fast as you can. Once you've cleared them out, the slow blue circular bullets should be tame enough to navigate around.

Been a while since I last played this. I think my previous best was something like 23 million, reaching the Stage 5 boss. Anyway, had a few goes yesterday and today and this is the best I could come up with...

Damn Brad, nice start! Edit: And damn doc, what a start! Is that with chaining, or more of a survival play?

The 1up: The goal is to kill every part of that giant red ship, including the little yellow boxes on each side. I am not sure if bombing takes it away, but that is how Cave usually rolls.

Also, anyone else think we should start marketing ball gags named "The Noiseredux Method"?
