I would be on board if it was hackable. It would be a nice little travel emulation box.

Yeah. Because the current method of hacking a Wii is using an exploit in the messaging system, and since there's no online there's no chance of that?

That does suck. I'm sure some one could find a way to hack it, but since it's not gonna be a very popular console, no one will bother.

People are actively working on it. Some of the old homebrew methods required you to download everything to a jumpdrive or sd card, but we do not have the SD card option this time around. If it happens I will gladly buy one and keep it in my car/at the office. Granted the price of original Wiis is about to plummet.

Does the Mini even have USB ports?

IIRC, when the HBC first came around you had the option to download an ISO to install it from a DVD, for those who had a mod chip. That might be an easier option to get the HBC on the Mini, just do a physical mod so you can install software from a DVD. Although, the masses don't wanna deal with hardware mods, they just want a soft mod and they want it to be easy and fast.

But like I've already said, I would really just be interested in it to play Wii games in another room. And I like the way it looks. Anything more than that is just gravy.

One good thing about it is the disc drive. I'd bet the Mini's disc drive will long outlive the original Wii's front loading drive. Or at the very least, the earlier Wii's, since those drives seem like they'll break down eventually (I've had minor issues with mine) but I can't comment on later revisions, I don't know if they improved the drives (like later PS1 drives).

Ah, OK, I'm sure some one will find a way to hack it with a USB stick or SD card with USB adapter or whatever.

I REALLY like how the wii mini looks, even when is kinda of a pointless revision. Should i pick one up now? Looks like is not going to sell very well and you know how that turns out in the long run.

Strictly for gaming purposes, I'd say no. But if you're into collecting, sure. As well, looks-wise it definitely holds some appeal.
For me the decision to pick one up was made for me. I mean for a time they had priced them down to $50 at some of our local stores and even bundled them with a couple games as well.
It's not going to last too long on the shelves, I would have thought. At least not over here.
