I was born a couple months late to be able to vote, but if I could, I'd choose Obama. I'm no Democrat, but I don't agree with the Republicans, either. The big issue that would make me pick him is the fact that he'd cut the military budget while Romney would rise it.

In my view, Forlorn, there's lots of nonsense in your posts in this thread and I suspect as you grow older and wiser some of your views will change (as long as you don't resist learning about these various "points of view" that you seem to think are important), but this one just baffles me:

I know I disagree with a lot of Obama's ideas. Romney has flipped around so much I don't really trust the guy and he doesn't seem that different from Obama in many ways.

I also just don't trust Romney or Ryan. They are rich people with rich people problems and are out of touch with the rest of America.

Obama isn't exactly a pauper.

Being forced to purchase health insurance is no different from prohibition or making abortions illegal. Laws on my body that don't affect others is tyrannical.

The argument, though, is that not creating mandatory healthcare purchasing has resulted in much higher costs to taxpayers to cover those who don't have coverage. This was at least part of the reason that the The Supreme Court ruled it was akin to a tax...

On the other side of the analogy, most of the abortion debate is about an embryo or fetus being a separate person.

When I see someone in a brand new car that weighs over two hundred pounds, wearing clothes that cost more than all of the clothing in my closet, come into Micky D's and buy two burgers and a coke with a wellfare card, I can't help but get pissed. There's no reason for that.

Please, you've never actually seen anyone do this and you know it. Reminds me of those stories of people buying cigarettes on food stamps

I find this weird, too, that people assume that if you are on foodstamps, you cannot have anything nice, as if once you're on foodsteps, you must throw out anything you had from before you were on it... How do you know the [imaginary] car and clothes weren't given to them, or that they hadn't already had them?

As far as using food stamps to buy fast food, blame your local governments. They decide, not the president. It's utterly shocking to see how many people blame the federal government for dumb shit their state and local governments do. I personally don't agree with buying fast food with foodstamps (but for health reasons), but it's absolutely ludicrous to think that President Obama has any bearing on this (not saying anywhere here is saying that, but I do know of people who are).

Ron Paul would be my adviser, and Gary Johnson would be my vice-Prime Minister (a new position I would make up). I would hire Jessie Ventura to body slam the Queen's Governor General, expel the British monarchy from Canada, and name me the new King of Kanada!

I would re-Christen the Canadian Dollar as the "PC Engine". That way, when I demand taxes from my citizens, I could say things like "you owe me one million PC Engines this year." Tax season would be renamed "The Mega Drive." The day I am crowned king would be known as "The Genesis." My political system would not be known as democracy; but instead, as "The Master System." Skates, the official equipment of our national sport of ice hockey, would be now known as "blades of steel." Our entire air force would be replaced with Vic Vipers.

This would be a good land indeed!
