I really like it and played a little bit of DOOM and Mario Kart. I wish they were cheaper since it would be nice to get a backup but one will do for now.Jamisonia wrote:I bought one from that guy too at the same time. I bought the green one he had. I'm excited to try out this hori goodness. Although I don't mind an N64 with a tight stick.

Good commentary. That might be a good guide topic for the site. That is, all about the various Bombermans and on different platforms.fastbilly1 wrote:Since I am late on the conversation - you people and your accessing forums on the weekend instead of playing games...
- Quake on the Saturn plays alot like Powerslave. It is a fun "port" especially if you have played it on the PC. As stated previously Quake is most likely running on the Powerslave/Exhumed engine. Not to say thats a bad thing, since Powerslave is a fun Stargate like FPS with a solid little engine - though I wish it had multiplayer.
- Saturn v. N64 - this is a matter of personal opinion, as you all know. Both have pros and cons, just like ALL consoles.
- N64 Bombermans are fun distractions. They vary from the original Bomberman alot. Thats not to say that the four of them are worth the crazy prices they command. Personally:
Bomberman Hero - not worth it unless you are a big platformer fan
Bomberman 64 1 - not worth it since 2 is much better - 1 was unpolished
Bomberman 64 2 - completely worth it if you want 3d battles
Baku Bomberman - worth it if you can get it for $50ish and dont have Saturn Bomberman - sadly Ive not seen it for under $100 for a long time.
Saturn Bomberman is a different beast though. I own two 30 something Saturn controllers now because of it (15 are Interact pads - thank you Interact Canada on Ebay). Saturn Bomberman was the best 2d Bomberman until Bomberman DS on the DS came out. Bomberman Blitz is the most played one at my house though, since it is eight player and has more game modes.
- Hori Minipads have one interesting part to them - they have two shoulder buttons on each side - a ZL and a ZR. They do the same thing, but you can easily end up pushing the wrong button at the wrong time. To fix this, I simply took out the L button on my primary one. I own five of them thanks to Harayashi, but would love to get the full color gamut. They are fantastic controllers that the I have two problems with: they are just a smidge too small for me, and the stick is too accurate for games like Goldeneye without a decent amount of practice.
- Death tank is good fun.
