I agree with you. JS's comment's haven't been respectful toward his ex (and the other sex in general) I don't think the comments are right. If you and your partner are fighting more then anything the split is definitely for the better. But we don't know the whole picture, lets not speculate.

When you are a collector of something that's a) expensive and b) takes a bunch of 'real estate space' in your place it's understanding that your partner might not appreciate it the same amount you do. Compromise is very important on both sides. If there is no compromise (usually in our case - her side), or if the collector gets out of hand it can cause a ton of stress for the household. Balance is the key!! Personally I couldn't put my collection before my spouse or financial security, however everyone is different (not pointing fingers at you JS - I don't mean that).

JS If you've gone to Vegas to gamble I hope you realize it's just a quick fix, have fun and I wish you the best.

She got a 2400 sq ft HOUSE on 2 acres, MY MUSTANG, TWO dogs, and 80% of my entire gameroom not to mention everything in the house.

I got a Honda civic packed with my clothes and whatever games I could fit and my dog.

With respect, jsGameroom, if that is the way you speak to her on video, it stands to reason you talk to her that way irl (possibly even more demeaning in person?). So Flake's comment sounds more than reasonable.

In either case, you say your doing good now (despite the apparent post-split-bitterness in your above post). So if yr doing good now though, that's good and we can get back to doing the video game thing. Glad you are doing well again.

Sure. I'm an asshole. Yes I am, but my reasoning for being an asshole wasn't exactly unwarranted.

She would make remarks all the time about an ex who aborted a child we were going to have and etc...We had a pretty shitty relationship for the last year or so of it.
